The Gambia Football Federation and the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education will formally ink a partnership program on Tuesday January 15 in Banjul where both entities will join to promote and develop Football in the Gambia with special emphasis on Women’s Football.
The Memorandum of Understanding will seek for the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the Gambia Football Federation and their implementing partners to coordinate and lay down policies while the Regional Education Offices, Primary Schools Football Associations and the Department of Youth and Sports will do the operational levels.
The MOU will clearly identify the roles and responsibilities of both the GFF and MOBSE as the two parties relate to the implementation of joint programs and activities to school football.
The Parties shall ensure that programs and activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable football laws, rules, and regulations.
The MOU will set out clear guidelines on how the Parties will work together to provide training courses for P.E. Teachers, Coaches, Managers and Sports Administrators in order to raise the level of football in schools.
Women’s Football will also top the agenda in the course of the program implementation as the Gambia Football Federation prides itself for the giant strides in achieved in Women’s Football development and hence its securing of renowned Women’s Football expert Monika Staab for a two year period with the task to improve on the existing goals.
