A Four Days capacity building Seminar for Women’s League Female Coaches in League Division One and Two has kicked off at the National Technical Training Centre in Yundum on Monday January 21.
The training meant to enhance the technical capabilities of the Women’s League Coaches in order to increase their performance level is been conducted by the Gambia Football Federation under the auspices of the renowned Women’s Football expert Monika Staab.
This is under the German Sports Co-operation program and the National Olympic Committee of the Gambia in conjunction with the Gambia Football Federation.
The Course is eye marked for 30 participants drawn from all League Division One and Two Women’s League and will have both theoretical and practical sessions.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the GFF President LAMIN Kaba Bajo. Mr Bajo congratulated the Course Coordinators for the initiative and also added that it is meant to increase their capacity levels hence ‘you have a big role to play in the technical abilities of your players’.
He indulged on the Coaches to take the course seriously and make best use of the knowledge gain to impact on their teams. He assured them of GFF’s unflinching support to help develop Women’s Football ‘ and by this we can start exporting female players to Europe and elsewhere’.
Present was GFF Executive Committee Member SADIBOU KAMASO and General Secretary LAMIN JASSEY who both hailed the training program as timely and further thanked the Course Coordinators for the good work done in Women’s Football while also urging the Coaches to take the training seriously.
