The race in The Gambia Football Federation’s top tier League is heating up as teams have now beginning to settle up the in the pinnacle of Gambian Football.
However, scarcity of goals is a worrisome factor for many Gambian football enthusiastic as the First Division is experiencing a low return in term of goals.
A heavily suspended Gamtel will face up with Banjul United at the Serekunda East Park, who had drawn their week seven fixture against the draw specialist Hawks FC.
Gamtel are out of the relegation zone for the first time following their week seven 1-0 win over Brikama United. Coach Haji Tunkara’s ferry boys will welcome the Satayba boys Brikama United at the Banjul KG5 mini stadium.
A win for either sides can project them to the top of the table if other results gone their way. A rejuvenated Gambia Armed Forces will lock horns with coach Alagie Sarr’s BK Milan.
The khaki boys are back tussling with the big boys following a win and a draw in their last two matches, in which they’d beaten the league leaders 3-1.
Foday Bah’s boys, will like to return to winning ways if they want to take a giants step towards realising their dreams of winning the league for the first time; for more than a decade.
They will entertain the petroleum boys Fortune FC who are languishing second from bottom on the league table. Jane Joof’s boys are struggling this season so far following their spectacular performance in their maiden seasons.
Tallinding United will travel all the way to the capital city, Banjul, to play with coach Alieu Jagne’s draw specialist who along side PSV Wellingara are the only teams yet to taste victory in the League. Hawks FC have drawn all their seven matches so far.
Following their two consecutive defeats, Marimoo FC will battle with the academy boys Samger FC in a match which promises to be a cracking and pulsating affair at the Independence Stadium.
The bottommost part of the fixture list is where PSV Wellingara will take on the Whites, Real de Banjul, at the Serekunda East park on Sunday. Coach Kebba Sawaneh’s PSV are without a win in the seven matches they played so far.
PSV Wellingara are having troublesome season in their maiden appearance in the pinnacle of Gambian football whilst their rivals of the day are ought to do better if they’re to win the League for the first time since 2015.
