CAPTAIN MUHAMMED SAMBOU HIT DOUBLE AS FORTUNE BEAT VETERANS 3-1

Capitan Muhammed sambou scored a brace in the second half to earned Fortune FC a deserved 3-1 victory over Ventrans FC in Farato football field.

Fortune FC, were back in action on Wednesday evening with the second Group D game against Ventrans FC, in a match which attracts low Fan’s based and spectators.

Veteran’s started well but Fortune FC climbed up and took the lead in the 17th minute. Edward John Gomez, blasted a thunderous free-kick into the top-right corner from just outside the eighteen yard area.

From Edward John’s goal, the Veterans started to threatened Fortune goal area with some clandestine movement as the match came alive with the Veterans creating chances with an incredible frequency. Veteran’s levelled the scoreline when Bakary Fatty converted a penalty after Afusainey sowe was brought down.

That kept the first half scoreline 1-1. Veteran’s started to build up a head of steam, with Lamin Sanyang and Karamo Njie working hard to find a way through the Fortune defence, but on 53 minutes, the contest was effectively ended as Capitane Muhammad Sambou tap home from Beranar silver shot that was parried by goalkeeper Badou.

Both team came with couple of substitutions as the petroleum boys remained a threat on the counter-attack with Modou Lamin Jammeh, at the centre stage of everything that Fortune FC has to offer and the youngster was denied a clear shooting opportunity by a brilliant tackle by Abdou hydara in 64 minutes.

Not a good day for the Veterans who didn’t deserve to leave the field empty-handed but Capitan Muhammed Sambou break their hearts after a classic finished that made scoreline 3-1 in 73 minutes.

Veterans were hungrier and better in every department at that stage, but all their efforts went begging as the game ended 3-1 in favour of Fortune FC.

The result leaves Veterans languishing in bottom place in the group after their second league defeat, while Fortune FC return to the top with 6 points following their second consecutive victory.
