GUNJUR UNITED NARROWLY EDGE OUT SECOND INFANTRY FOOTBALL CLUB

Gunjur United have completed a dual over Second Infantry Battalion in the ongoing Gambia Football Federation (GFF) second division league after whipping them 1-0 in the week twenty-two fixture played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Monday.

The Gunjur-based club, who battered the Farafenni Barracks Soldiers 3-2 in the first round at the Jarra-Soma Mini Stadium, were among the teams vying for promotion to the country’s premier league next season. They needed a victory to close gap on teams above them in the league standings and managed to score one goal without Second Infantry Battalion replying to complete a double over them in the country’s second tier.

Gunjur United have now clutched 33 points after twenty-two league outings and Second Infantry Battalion with 19 points in twenty-two league games.
