Wallidan Football Club Sees themselves drawn against Team Rhino Football Club a second tier club in the football federation cup (ff cup), in first of matches in this years ff cup.
Wallidan Football Club toke on Team Rhino Football Club in the football federation cup tie on Tuesday the 23rd of April at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. One of three matches to be played on this day.
The blue boys came into the game with 2 lost in a row in their previous outings, losing to Gamtel Fc by two goals to nil and to Marimoo Fc by 3 goals to 2 respectively. Team Rhino Fc on the hand lost to Jam City by 2 goals to nil and managed a 1 all draw to Lions of Banjul .
Coach Foday Bah made 6 changes from the previous starting 11 coming into this game, a tactical move to out smart a team not in good form so far.
Just 6 mins into the game and wallidan had two clear chances, Baboucarr Jallow and PRO firing wide of the goal post. Ous Jallow came close in the 6 yards in the 16 mins only to sees team rhino goalie denying him a clear cut goal. Team Rhino also responded in the 18 min with a good chance to take the lead but missed. Seems Team rhino goalie was in for it as he saved a fine shot from Sawo in the 31st min.
Wallidan Fc squandered many chance during the first half , finally in the 42nd min the deadlock was broken as pedro’s cross ball was converted in by Team Rhino defender, thus a own goal. They went to the break 1 nil to Wallidan Fc.
After the break, 6 mins into the second half team rhino equalises from a brilliant set piece. The blue boys responded as they were awarded with a penalty in the 70th mins which Sawo converted. Team Rhino stood their ground to ward off attacks by wallidan fc as they made some of their own also.
Wallidan’s Sawo was on fire as he managed to wiggle his way pass two players to release a shot pass the rhino goalie in the 79th mins. Frustration began to settle in the team rhino players, But they manage to avert further humiliation. It ended 3 : 1 in favour of Wallidan Football Club as they knock out Team Rhino football club out of the FF CUP.
