A THIRD TIER CLUB GCAA/BIA FC STUNS TOP TIER BRIKAMA UNITED FC IN FF CUP

A not much known about third division side GCAA/BIA (The Gambia Civil Aviation Authority/Banjul International Airport) managed to put up resistance to brikama united football club to salvage a hard fought for win in the FF Cup on the 23rd of April at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

Champions Brikama United lost in a 6-5 penalty shootouts following a goalless draw in regulation time. The Aviation boys knocked out the satay ba boys on their home ground as their fans cheer them up. Brikama United dominated the whole game with lion share of the ball possession. They were sloopy did not show any zeal to warrant them a victory.

The only time they came close was when Ismaila Gibba wiggled his way pass the aviation boys defence firing a weak shot that never troubled the goalie. There were moments when a gcca/ bia player seem to handle the ball in the area that prompt the brikama united players to appealed for a penalty but the central referee Mohamed Marigo showed no interest and ignored.

At later part of the match was marred with time wasting by the gcca/bia players frustrating the Brikama united players more. The former champions did all they could but the resilient Aviation boys stood firm in their game plan.
