BRIKAMA UNITED VS GCCA/BIA

The Gambia football federation most prestigious club competition kicked off yesterday with a number of games played.

Former league Champions Brikama united football club were surprised by a 3rd division side GCCA/BIA football club. The match was most of it dominated by Brikama united but resilient gcca/bia fc were up to the task showing more determination and zeal while brikama could not were toothless to inflict any harm to the third tier club.

GCAA/BIA football club defeated former Gambian champions Brikama United 6-5 on post-match penalty shootouts following a goalless draw in regulation time. 

PSV WELLINGARA FC VS JAMBANJELLY FC

In the late kickoff match between league one strugglers PSV Wellingara and second tier side Jam City at the Independence Stadium was also decided by post-match penalty shootout. Following a 1 all draw in full regulatory time, the struggling first division side were victors from the sport kick, 3-1 to psv.

YOUNG AFRICANS FC VS BRUFUT UNITED FC

Young Africans sent Brufut United after a 1-1 draw in regulatory time. It was a well contested game, but had to be settled by penalty shootout. Young Africans Fc claim spot while stuttering Brufut United were sent packing.

TALLINDING UNITED FC VS GAMBIA PORTS AUTHORITY FC

Tallinding United’s tie against The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) has been forced into a replay as it was too dark for penalty shootout following a 1 all draw in full regulatory time. It would be up to the organising committee to take decision whether to play full match of only penalty shootout.

Wallidan Fc made it into the last 16 following a 3-1 thumping of Team Rhino in full time. Hawk fc continue their good run of form with a hard fought 2-1 defeat of second division side Serrekunda East Bi.

Wednesday matches : Steve Biko takes on B4U Kiang West at stadium 3:00pm . Marimoo lock horns with Banjul United in the late kick off. Waa Banjul will entertain Red Hawks in a Banjul derby and Real de Banjul will try avoid an early exit when they face off with second tier side Gunjur United.
