GFF Bans Pre-Kickoff Rituals.

The Gambia Football Federation on the 2nd of April 2019 issued a press release warning to all clubs involve with the federation competition to desist from the act of rituals before match kick-off .

This Release came in the wake of a incident that place on Monday the 29th Of April at the independence stadium in bakau. GFF organizing committee says it has come to their attention that clubs perform pre-match rituals before kick-off time and extra prayers on the field and this has led to matches kicking off late than the time stated and it has become intolerable.

The federation has urged all clubs to totally desist from any form of rituals after their warm-up and pre-match team talks in their respective dressing rooms.

The organizing committee has therefore levied a fine of 10,00 Dalasis to any club found guilty of such rituals and wanting. It further states the form of rituals often perform such as extra prayers just before kick offs and the pouring of substance on the pitch and at the goal post, burying of juju’s and excessive hand shakings with team mates and officials on the bench and any other form of rituals that are not part of their protocol of matches will attract similar fine as been stated above.
