PSV Wellingara fc and Samger football club are fighting to redeem themselves from relegation in the ongoing Gambia Football Federation Division one league football following their dismal performance in the 2018 -2019 season.
With both teams finding themselves rock bottom of the league table need to start collecting vital points if they are to sustain themselves in the first division with only six games remaining of the 2018/2019 season.
The Academy boys Samger Football club currently second-place from bottom in the league table with 18 points in twenty-two league games. If they have to survive relegation they must started collecting points in their remaining six league matches and hope for other teams above them to drop point to enable them stay in the top flight league next season.
However, this might be the worst season so far for the academy boys since maiden debut to the first division league football. Another team that has been struggling is PSV. The Wellingara based football club gained its promotion to division one league football last season but could not take advantage of this promotion.
Its as if they’ve lost that fighting spirit they showed in last years second division league football and also the lack of experience, and also quality players like that of their opponents. Motivation is another key factor in their performance as a team.
