Saatay-Baa boys ( Brikama united ) yesterday Friday 31st May 2019 beat record champions the Blue-Boys ( Wallidan fc ) in a well deserved victory at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Brikama’s 2:0 victory over Wallidan fc sees them still in the lead in the league table standings, goals from Adama Manneh and Momodou Major Bojang sealed their well deserved victory.
Momodou Bojang had the opening chance to set Brikama united in front in the 9th minuets but sent his shot wide and begging and in the 13th minutes another chance went begging as Ebrima Badjie had the post to his mercy but sent it howling wide, It was all Brikama United as they dominated the proceedings but both trended carefully to avoid an early off-set
The deadlock was finally broken in the 22nd minuets by Adama Manneh, as Wallidan Football Club goalie parried Momodou Bojang fierce shot into a crowded penalty area before Adama Manneh acrobatic bicycle shot hit the back of the net giving them the lead.
Brikama united added a second in the 43rd minutes as hard working and influential Momodou Major Bojang redirected Adama Manneh’s header into the net from a perfectly taken corner, before heading for the break.
After resuming fro the break, the saatay baa boys continued to dominate the proceedings with the lion share of the ball possession. knocking the ball about making it harder for Wallidan fc, to the delight of the fans and spectators .
Momodou Bojang in the 65th minutes managed dazzle and dances pass couple of WallidanFC defenders before his final touch let him down but was able to secure a corner kick for brikama united . Another chance for brikama squandered in the 75th minutes as Modou Manneh and Lamin Balajo exchanged passes before Modou Manneh unleashed Ismaila Gibba at the far end who shots straight to the keeper.
Wallidan fc came closed to pulling one back in the 77th minuets as Bocande couldn’t utilised the chance. Momodou Bojang could have made it three nil following a through pass but his well taken shot was palmed away by Wallidan fc goalie.
It ended 2:0 in favour of Brikama United Football Club,they are now with 43 points out of 25 games played. Brikama united will take on their fierce rival Gambia Armed Forces fc in the last game of the league.
A win for them will confirm them champions and likewise for Armed forces football club.
