The second division side Red hawks are through to the next stage of the ongoing Gambia Football Federation FF Cup competition following their goalless draw against a third Division side of BIA-GCAA before the later went on to win 5-6 on post-match penalty shootout , in a game that played on Wednesday the 12 of June 2019 at the Box bar park in Brikama.
The third division side BIA-GCAA started the game well and created some brilliant chances against Red Hawks in the night but really lack that sharpness in front of goal after a series of occasions in front of goal. Red Hawks football club are on 12th position in the second division league competition, won 7 of their league games, drawn 7 and lost 14 matches out of a possible 26 league games and are with a point of 28 in the table.
Though their performance during the night was not up to their strength compared to the third division league boys ‘’BIA -GCAA ‘’with some excellent connections on the ball within the players.
However, their efforts should have paid off, had they made best used the chance created with that heavy pressure on red hawks football club but luck was not on their side following that goalless stalemate in regulation time before the later Red Hawks went on to win 5-6 on shot out.
The results now mean that Red Hawks are through to the next stage of the Gambia Football Federation FF Cup league while BIA -GCAA will have to wait for another challenge next season.
