Musa Barrow’s goal came in the 27th minutes of the game after a weak pass from the defence of the Moroccans was intercepted and played onto Musa Barrow’s path at the leftwing, the paced winger made a dash into the penalty area and drilled the ball to the right corner of the up-right post.
The scorpions have now won two of their scheduled international friendlies, they defeat the Syli Nationale de Guinea by a lone goal played on Friday the 7th June before triumphing over the Atlas Lions of Morocco by one goal to nil on Wednesday 12th June 2019.
The 46-year-old Belgian coach is hoping for the best as an appeal against Togo has been filed at the Court for Arbitration for Sports (CAS). Speaking in an interview with reporters shortly after the match in Stade de Marrakech, he noted his confidence as saying “If on Friday our appeal at the Court for Arbitration for Sports (CAS) is accepted, we will replaced Togo at the Afcon tournament in Egypt,” he said.
He further elaborated that he has good feelings they can win the case as they have all the documents and evidence regarding their case. The test games were sort of a preparation also for the Afcon 2019 if the the rulings goes their way and if not then perhaps the next.
