OMAR SISSE – ON PLANS AHEAD OF THE WAFU CHAMPIONSHIP IN DAKAR

It’s less than three months until the 2019 Wafu Nations Cup kicks-off in Dakar Senegal. The football competition is contested amongst west African states governed by the West Africa Football union.

Coach Omar Sisse is yet to announce his provisional team for the Tournament. The Gambia Will open their Campaign against former champions Ghana. The Gambian Gaffer is aware of the task ahead following his previous experience in a tournament designed for home groomed talents.

Speaking to reporters Sise said ‘’ it’s going to be an exciting tournament, it’s not the first time playing Ghana, we played in Ghana and we lost to them in a controversial penalty. We now poled again with them and this time round in Senegal’’ Dakar ‘’is more of a home for us then them.

We going all out to represent Gambia and our premier goal is to eliminate them and go to the proper tournament . So that we can bring glory to the Gambia. I hope with the potentials and the caliber of players we have and the support we have from the FA everything will work fine.

Also, when Further ask how is the preparation like, ‘’plans are on way; we are preparing to started training probably on the 5th of July 2019 and from their we will work towards our first kick-off. Sise also believe to meet up the time frame before the wafu championship in Dakar ‘’ definitely we will meet up time.

A good two and a half month or 3months is ample time to get prepared for the tournament. One advantage we have most of our players are on the ground ‘’. The Gaffer concluded
