Both the all whites ‘ Real de Banjul and Marimoo football club made it to the finals in the late Omar Sey Tournament. The final which is schedule to take place this Saturday 6th July 2019 at the Independence stadium in Bakau.
Real de banjul made it to the final after seeing off their arch Banjul rivals the ferry boys ‘GPA’ in a two nil triumph ,thanks to goals from Ebrima Jatta and Pa Modou Sohna. There was not much to talk about in the first half as both trended carefully to avoid any error, cancelling each other with real seeing lion share of possession but no goals to shoe for it.
Ebrima Jatta break the deadlock minutes after the break with a well placed header to give the FF CUP holders the lead. Pa Modou Sohna doubled the tally moments after, following a close range blazer from Ebrima Jatta but saved by the keeper only for Pa Madou Sohna to fire in the second for the all whites.
Marimoo fc were able to dump the recently crown league champions Brikama united the ‘Saatay Baa boys’ to reach the finals. A brace from Ismailia Ceesay was enough to book a place in the final for Marimoo football club.
The Manjai base club ‘’Marimoo ‘’ were unbeaten since the commencement of the tournament and their first triumph was against Gamtel football club before settling for a 1 all draw with the Kaki Boys’’ GAF ‘’.
This final seems to be, going to be a thrilling one as both team showed much solid run of form in the tournament after the just concluded successful domestic league season. With Marimoo fc picking up a later stunning form in the later days of the domestic league and the all whites challenging for the league title and lifting the FF CUP , One wouldn’t do much but anticipate for a real showdown in the final.
