OMAR GASSAMA’S FIRST MINUTE SECOND HALF STRIKE SENDS MANDUAR TO SEMIS

Manduar’s midfield maestro, Omar Gassama, alias Oscar scored the fastest second half goal in the ongoing Kombo Central II organised PEACE, LOVE and UNITY for DEVELOPMENT tournament dashing the hopes of the Kabekel side who came all out to steal the day.

In a match dubbed by many as a clash of titans, Kebekel, who dominated much of the possession, failed to register a shot on target or corner in the opening half. Manduar would threaten Kabekel on many occasions during the first period but couldn’t penetrate the resolute and well organised Kabekel defence.

In the 26 minutes Lamin Bojang , better known as Boyo, sent in a beautiful volley from the right side of the field to find Ousman Touray in the box whose reply only hit the woodwork. After lemon time, Manduar broke the deadlock with a 25 seconds strike to silence Kabekel and their faithful fans when Omar Gassama met Sanna Bojang’s curly pass in the penalty area to slot home the much needed lead. Kabekel frantically fought back by swiftly building up in the game with some fine moves and interchange of passes to no avail.

Coach Famara Sarjo of Kabekel introduced some fresh legs to rescue the day but his opposite neutralised his tactics adding more frustration to his side. At the end of regulation time, the much attended and awe striking match ended MANDUAR 1-0 KABEKEL with Manduar spirited fans and supporters going home in higher spirits for the semi finals against Marakissa on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 5pm in Marakissa.

Meanwhile Bakary Sambouya is just waiting for the winner between Darsilameh and Kassa Kunda match which will be played at a date to be scheduled.

In the Girls Empowerment Tournament (GET) played earlier yesterday at the same ground, Penyem were held goal less by Bakary Sambouya. Matches continue this coming weekend.
