The long- awaited league final in Kunkujang Marima is now slated for the 9th of August 2019 between Ba- Yiliya Football Club and Ba-Jaffu at the village football ground.
For some reasons, the final has been pending for two years. Both teams met in the group stages were both sides settled for a goalless.
Speaking to a committee member Pierre Mendy on what caused the final pending for long,’’ We just set-up a new committee and remember there was no money during the installment of the present committee under the leadership of Sang Mendy as the president of the zone. The final was delay because there was no money in the bank account and now we starting fresh with the final and straight to Nawettan proper in Kunkujang mariama’’ he concluded.
However ,Kunkujang Mariama is a land blessed with talented players. In an interview with Michael Mendy, one of the promising lads of the village, “the return of football in the village will give us that platform to showcase our God given talents. I’m glad it’s just at the corner’” he concluded to Logic Sports. The match will be played on Friday, 9th of August 2019 at the Kunkujang Mariama football field, by 4:30pm GMT.
