MacDonald United Winners Of The Mayoress Supper Cup Trophy 2019 In Banjul

Defending league champions Macdonald united beats knock out winners Jamsen 4-1 in a post-match penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regulation time. The match was played on Saturday the 24th of August 2019 at the Kg5 mini stadium in Banjul.

Both sides cancel out each other in regulation time as they played out an entertaining goalless draw in front of a jam park Banjul Mini stadium. MacDonald United goalkeeper Dodou Bass was the hero of the day for the defending champions as he safe two spot kicks and scored the winning penalty to give his side a 4-1 victory.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Jamsen coach Yusupha Drammeh said, he was satisfied with the performance of his team ‘’ I am satisfied with our performance because it was not an easy game and I am happy that they won through penalties and not in regulation time.

We knew each other that is why, it was really a tough game, so both sides stick to their tactics and we didn’t want to be beaten in regulation time because it may affect us during nawettan proper ‘’ he said. Emotional Pa Dodou Jagne on the other hand couldn’t keep his tears when speaking to the press said,’’ Alhamdulillah’s because it was not easy to continue from where we stop last season ,we won the league unbeaten so expectations were very high ahead of this game .So am very happy we won and start this year’s Campaign with a trophy ‘’.
