Berewuleng’s captain, Abdoulie Fofana scored from either side of Kalilu Manneh’s thunderbolt goal to help Berewuleng FC registered their first three points in a narrow 2-1 win against a stubborn Alfama FC.
Abdoulie Fofana who goes by his moniker “Jakiteh” put Berewuleng FC in front for the first time in the 2019 Brikama Sports Committee (BSC) Nawettan when Buba Colley swung in a teasing cross in the third minute of the match which found him unmarked and released a powerful shot which Alfama’s Goalkeeper Sheriffo Colley parried straight to him.
He then bundled the ball home in the second time of asking. Alfama FC cancelled out their neighbours’ early lead in the 22nd minute.
Alfama’s new acquisition, Lamin Kaddy Touray sent in a curling free kick and Berewuleng’s netminder, Yusupha Sanyang failed to catch the ball at once and the ball bubbled kindly before Alfama’s defender Kalilu Manneh who smashed it home for an equaliser.
Berewuleng and Alfama went to the locker rooms with the scores all square between them. Both coaches were disappointed in the manner they conceded their goals.
Berewuleng’s left fullback, Buba Colley turned provider again when his well- taken corner kicked was headed in from close range by Captain Abdoulie Fofana in the 52th minute of the encounter. Elsewhere at 3pm, Scovil continued their remarkable run of form with a 1 nil win over Kutehjunbulu.
