Defeat for Kabafita meant they were out of the tournament all together while a win for the farato team would have put them in pole position to make it to the second round. Kabafita played with fire as they trusted their nawettan novices over the experience players.
They were nearly made to pay the price as shallote took the lead in a spectacular fashion. Mid way point of the first half, Ebrima Jatta’s corner was not dealt with by the Kabafita defence and Lamin Janneh went for the acrobatic and scored gloriously at the basket lone end of the ground.
There was nothing anybody could do about it as goalkeeper Ousainou Badjie could only watch it flew passed him into the bottom corner 1-0 shallote. Kabafita managed to keep them at bay for a second goal.

Yellow shirts blue shorts, they kept on pushing. Seven minutes into the second half, Mbake Kejera had a tame effort that hit the cross bar. Lamin .E. kujabi was then deployed in midfield with sarjo manneh.
In the 62nd minute, captain Modou Lamin Jammeh was substituted for Shallote. Kabafita capitalized a minute later. The ball fell to the man with two arm bands for Kabafita. Captain fantastic they call him, Lamin Ceesay who hammered it right footed, goalkeeper Alieu Darboe spilt it for substitute Ebrima Bah to poke it home for the leveler.
It was all Kabafita from then on as they went in search of a dramatic winner. Lamin Ceesay was threatening anytime he was in possession. The result means that all teams in group E are still in it regardless of what happens between Manduar and Citizens FC.
