Late Ebou Sowe FC and FC Warriors have all progress into the Bayba Financial Services Sponsored Knockout Semi Finals following penalty shootouts wins over Firehouse and Ngoyan FC on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
On Tuesday 15 October, 2019, Late Ebou Sowe came from behind to beat Firehouse FC 4-2 on post-match penalties following a one all draw in regulation time. Firehouse took the lead through an own goal by Malang Kanteh in the 33 minutes. However Late Ebou Sowe alias Heart of Banjul found an equalizer in the 78 minutes when Babucarr Faal successful executed a penalty to send the game to penalty shootouts. Heart of Banjul eventually won the shootouts 4-2 to complete the double over Firehouse after knocking them out of the League Cup with a 2-0 victory on Friday.
Meanwhile on Wednesday 16 October, FC Warriors continue their unbeaten run in this year’s Nawettan after beating Ngoyan 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw. FC Warriors also did the double over the Ngoyan in six days after defeating the latter 5-3 on penalties after 1-1 draw on Thursday.
Meanwhile on Thursday 17 October, 2019, London City will take on last year’s League Champions MacDonald United as the Knockout trophy remains the only hope for a silver wear for both sides. The winner will lock horns with FC Warriors in the semis.
Meanwhile the final, quater final match will be a repeat of the League quarter final match between defending champions Jamesen and Revelation FC. The two meet on Monday with Jamesen progressing with a 3-1 victory. The winner will entertain Late Ebou Sowe in the semis.
