Real de Banjul took on Banjul united at the Banjul mini stadium (KG 5) on Sunday 12th January 2019 in the Gambia football federation league 1 week 5 fixtures.
The All whites real de Banjul came into the game with a victory after seeing off BK Milan in their last game with a 2:1 win, While the City Boys Banjul United beat Elite united by a lone goal.
Both teams got off with hopes of winning the game as the battle for dominance raged, but real de Banjul got their tactics right by stopping the city boys from playing their game plan and pressured them in the first half.
Much was not seen in the first half as both teams keep foiling each others attack. The city boys returned after the break more determined and played collectively and defended well.
Real Got Frustrated and took to long balls to get behind the formidable
defence of the city boys as they couldn’t get behind their lines, trying to take advantage of their light-footed attackers to get around the stable defence.
The City boys were later reduced to ten men following the sending of their defender Musa Jarju in the 65′ mins. Real Mounted more pressure but couldn’t break down the city boys defence.
It ended in a barren stalemate, with real being the best team with the display of exciting individual brilliance and much desire to win while Banjul united playing the delay tactics to get over with the intense game

The telecom giants are now on pole position with 10 Points while GAF went down three places to 7th position with 7 Points joint with Hawks and Wallidan.
Meanwhile defending Champions Brikama United moved to 3rd following their with a 2-1 home victory over Hawks who were 3rd going to the Week Five.
