The Gambia and Sampdoria defender Omar Colley is under the radar of English premier league side Southampton F.C. The club is said to be ready to make him an offer. According to reports, the saint sent their scouts to assess him since the beginning of the year and had gathered positive results about the 27-year-old.
It’s like everyday the saints are been linked to a defender as they desperately seeking for a centre-back to bolster it’s defense department. Colley is 27 years old and has featured in 21 games in all competitions for Sampdoria since arriving in Italy from Genk in 2018. He has made an average 1.5 per match and 4.5 clearance per game.
However it is uncertain weither the club will agree to sell him or him been tempted to move to the premier league. It’s most likely that Sampdoria will slap a heavy price tag on the defender to deter him from leaving the club, if in case their target of 18-year-old Nemanja Perović failed. Suggestion say a €15m price tag which the saints will be in contention with.
In another development Omar Colley’s agent Cheikh Faal has cast a doubt on the situation by denying reports that Southampton has made a €15m plus bonus offer to his client. He only denied the saints bid and there could be other possible offers from English clubs but yet to be tabled.
