GFF League Division Two women’s competition 2022/23 season capped off today with Brikama United and Immigration

Brikama United and Immigration securing promotion to the top tier while Stone Circle and Kuteh Jombulu relegated to their respective 3rd division leagues.

Immigration FC beat Prison 3-2 in a thrilling encounter played at the Banjul Mini Stadium on Saturday 29th July 2023 to take the final qualification spot. Three first-half goals from Fatoumatta S Jallow, Isatou Fatty, and Diminga Sylva were enough for Immigration while Fatou Jarju and Jubay Colley put up a late Prison FC fightback, but the Immigration girls held on for a famous victory.

At the end of the full round of the competition, Brikama United accumulated 50 points and 2nd place Immigration on 49 points for both to return to division one after spending a season in the second tier. Greater Tomorrow finished just a point behind Immigration with 48 points while Stone Circle 8 points and Kuteh Jombulu with a solitary point could not survive the drop.
