The Banjul Region Football Association third division League 2024 competition came to a close today at the Banjul Mini Stadium after the mega final was played between Young Africans and Sporting Real.

Amadou Manneh’s second half goal separated the two capital based heavy weights and earned Young Africans to narrowly triumph over Sporting Real 0-1 and eventually crowned champions of the Banjul Football Association third division league.

Sporting Real started brightly dominating possession and created chances, but they failed to hit the target. Young Africans although grew into the game with a few chances, but they, too could not capitalize in the first stanza.

Young Africans received a giant trophy, gold medals, and a cheque amounting to D80,000:00 (Eighty thousand Dalasis) while Sporting Real were consoled with D50:000:00 (fifty thousand Dalasis).

The colourful final was presided over by GFF First Vice President Bakary K Jammeh and attended by Second Vice president Alhagie Ebou Faye, executive committee members Lt Col Musa Jammeh, Ms Ramou Ndow,

and Banjul RFA President Mr Modou Sowe. Other dignitaries include the Deputy Mayor of Banjul Hon Abdul Aziz Dabakh Gaye and council members as well as fans and football enthusiasts.
