Awa Tamba is a Gambian Footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Red Scorpions Football Club and The Gambia National Team.
Awa began her career with Red Scorpions Football Club in 2008. Awa was very instrumental in their quest to become champion, league upon league she has won several trophies with Red Scorpions, which made her one of the most successful player in women's football.
Awa was part of the team that represented The Gambia in the FIFA U17 world cup which was held in Azerbaijan in 2012, and she has also been capped 16 times for queen senior national team of the Gambia .
Awa is regarded as one of the best central midfielders in the GFF women League one, and of her generation, Awa added strength, creativity and physicality to Red Scorpions squad, she is gifted with pace, comfortable on the ball, good distribution, passing, and crossing ability, which allows her to carry the ball forward
